If you go to your installed updates you can delete the ie8 beta in there & it will rollback to ie7 after that.

Actually, I’ll be careful myself. I read that the IE7 mode of IE8 doesn’t behave exactly the same as IE7 (and gives different results for the Acid2 and other tests). In other words, IE8 is not a good reference to make IE7 tests (yet).

It does overwrite IE6 too. IE7 is coming but IE6 still takes about 40%.

IE8 looks quite buggy now, I’m writing this and hovering mouse or selecting text produce some nice effects. Many elements noticably displaced, jumping and so on…

Interesting that it’s still pass IE7 *+html css hack, so IE7 hacks will be devilered even to IE8beta1 standarts mode. I can only suggest to use conditional comments instead of this hack for now.

At least finally we have support of display:table property and generated content.

I tested some of our webs on it… it has a problem with float/clear, hope they fix it or we have another nightmare on board. :D

Damn ! I just installed IE8 beta on a Windows Vista Home Premium notebook, and after opening IE, it shows
“Internet Explorer has stopped working” and it closes !

Now, I cant even revert back to IE7 because Im unable to find an IE7 installation for Vista !
